Stamina & Endurance

Last week, we managed to have a chance to visit the South part of China. We arrived at Guilin and we went down south to Yangshou straight away. After a few days journey in Yangshou, we went back to Guilin away. So in the middle of the way, we stopped by a very nice place called “Longji Rice Terraces”.


Longji Rice Terraces is a serene place whereby rice terraces and local homes are built layer by layer according to the mountain landscapes. On top of those peaks, you could really feel like touching the clouds while you enjoy the nature atmosphere. As these mountains are covered by forests, walking is the main mode of travel from places to places. And normally it feels like a very long journey for most of the city people. You know, we travel on our transports most of the time.

In the midst of doing these walking journeys, I realized that the day-to-day exercise eg. yoga session, that we normally do is playing a huge role in these trips. We could see that yoga practice helps us to build up stamina by getting oxygen into our lungs and disperse out any unwanted gases from our body. It also assists in detoxifying our internal organs by strengthening the tenderness on our muscles.


Secondly, as we are so used to our yoga exercise, it helps our body to develop and maintain the endurance of moving onto a prolong journey. This continued existence of power enables our body to go on a long way for the accomplishment of our destination. And you could be amazed by the maximum limit of your body.


Lastly, we could also concentrate on our breaths, allow ourselves to go into meditative state and blend with the nature with an open heart. Well, this is the time one really feels at peace with the green.


So, I am delighted that I am practicing yoga as the foundation of my physical body and I would say that I will cherish it forever.
