Testimonial On Zen Meditation
Peace. Whenever we mention the word “peace”, what we have in mind is to have peace with others. What about peace with yourself? Having the feeling of hatred, jealousy is not having peace with yourself. When you experience such feeling, you are being controlled by your own emotion. In other words, you are not your own master, you are indeed the slave of your own emotion.
We hate slavery. We definitely adore Abraham Lincoln as our hero for freeing the slaves. When are we going to free ourselves from the emotional slavery that we experience from day to day, from minute to minute, from second to second?
I have been receiving guidance from Tristen for the Zen meditation. The purpose of the meditation is to achieve peace with ourselves ultimately. Bliss will come together with peace. Stillness will come together with peace.
Meditation, together with reading on certain books, have a profound impact on my life. It makes me aware of what I experience at this particular moment.
Zen meditation teaches us to acknowledge and accept whatever has happened and to let it go. To me, it is very similar to the message that Eckhart Tolle, the author of the book “A New Earth” wants to convey – being aware of yourself, being aware of your emotion, being aware of your ego and let it go because it is the cause of our sufferings. By meditating, you are one step nearer to enlightenment and salvation.
